Sportsmanship - By peck67

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

It took me 8 yrs. of playing in the APA to win a trip to Vegas. Once we
were there you realize how much sportsmanship means. When we were there
representing NEIAPA it made you realize, it's us against them. What I'm
saying is, Next weekly match you have, Don't mark 10 safety shots when they have played 4. Don't call Al complaining about someones handicap because they had a good night and you shot like crap.IT"S US AGAINST THEM. When you're in Vegas and a SKL 3 breaks and runs on you, You'll
know what I'm talking about.

I know what you are saying. I have not had my chance to goto Vegas yet but everyone has a good night and unfortunatly has a bad night too. You cant be calling and complaining about your opponants skill levels. It may be hard not to sometimes but sportsmanship is a big part of this game. I lose and may be mad but its not at who I played. Im mad at myself for not playing as well as I should have.

That's exactly right Peck. Also, it is annoying when people get upset about their handicap going up!! I feel it is a complement. I have good sessions and bad sessions. When my handicap goes down I get called a "CHEATger". Some people can't except it when they go up. Learn and understand the way handicaps are figured. It's not that hard. Play pool, have fun no matter what your handicap!!
